The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (“ILSC”) is pleased to announce, the successful completion of the sale of its subsidiary, Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia Pty Ltd (“Voyages”), operator of Ayers Rock Resort at Yulara and Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre (MGCC) in Far North Queensland to Journey Beyond, effective 27 February 2026.
Commenting on the sale completion, Joe Morrison, ILSC Group CEO said:
“This transaction marks an important milestone for both the ILSC and Journey Beyond. The sale completion enables the ILSC to fulfill the first of a series of transactions that will ultimately see the transfer of land and buildings at both sites for the benefit of the respective Traditional Owners, while Journey Beyond assumes ownership of Voyages and ultimate responsibility for the operations forward, adding Ayers Rock Resort and MGCC to its portfolio of tourism experiences in partnership with Indigenous communities.
Completion will also allow the ILSC to focus further on its core activities; assisting First Nations peoples to acquire and manage land and water related rights.”
The ILSC will now continue to work with the respective Traditional Owners on the divestment of the land. Divestment of the Yulara land to Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara is expected to be finalised by 2026. The MGCC land divestment will follow, once the native title application that includes the MGCC site is determined.
