The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) acknowledges with sadness, the passing of the Northern Land Council (NLC) Chair, Dr Bush-Blanasi.

Dr Bush-Blanasi grew up in the Wugularr (Beswick) community in Katherine and was dedicated to serving his community. He was raised by Mr Blanasi a senior Mayili leader and had connections to the Blue Mud Bay region in east Arnhem Land.

Ian Hamm, ILSC Chair, offered his condolences to Dr Bush-Blanasi’s family and loved ones.

“Dr Bush-Blanasi’s strength was truly admirable, and his passing will be felt by many. We offer our deepest condolences to his family,” said Mr Hamm.

“His time at the NLC was a significant part of his career, having served a total of nine terms, with four of those as the Chair”.

Vale Dr Bush-Blanasi.
