The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is saddened by the news of the passing of Rev Dr Djiniyini Gondarra OAM, a respected lawman of the Dhurii clan in north-east Arnhem Land.

Rev Dr D. Gondarra OAM’s dedication to pioneering opportunities for Aboriginal communities is a testament to his profound commitment and leadership.

Having devoted his life to championing justice and freedom for his community, Rev. Dr. D. Gondarra OAM leaves behind a legacy to be carried forward by those whose hearts and minds he has touched.

Ian Hamm, ILSC Chair, expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the ILSC.

“We are profoundly saddened by the passing of Rev Dr D. Gondarra OAM. His lifelong achievements have left an enduring mark on Indigenous affairs in Australia,” said Mr Hamm.

“My thoughts are with his family, friends, and community during this difficult time.”
