Guides & support

Inland water refers to all the rivers, lakes, wetlands and hidden underground water across Australia. These waters shape the land, support life, and connect everything—from plants and animals to people and places.

Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations (MLDRIN)

MLDRIN is a group of First Nations from the southern part of the Murray–Darling Basin. They work together to protect rivers, wetlands, and Country, and to make sure Indigenous voices are heard in water management decisions. MLDRIN also advocates for cultural water rights, known as “Cultural Flows,” which give First Nations access to water for cultural, social, and environmental purposes. www.mldrin.org/

Committee on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Water Interests (CAWI)

CAWI is a government-appointed advisory group.  They work with governments and water stakeholders to make sure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ water rights, values, and interests are included in national water policy and planning. www.dcceew.gov.au/water/policy/first-nations/cawi
