The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is deeply saddened by the recent floods that have devastated communities across the Top End of Australia, resulting in the tragic losses and damage to property, businesses, livestock and wildlife. 

In response to the ongoing flood disaster, and recognising the impact on Indigenous held lands, assets and communities, we have released the 2023 Emergency Response Grants Program to support Indigenous corporations. 

The ILSC Program has been established as an emergency response grant for any Indigenous corporation whose property has been directly affected by floods.

A grant of up to $20,000 (GST excl.) will be available to assist Indigenous corporations to immediately secure and clean up damaged properties located in any local government area (LGA) that has been declared by the relevant State or Territory as a flood disaster area. 

Eligibility:  

Applications for this grant program close on 31 May 2023.

Indigenous corporations (incorporated) may be eligible for assistance through the Program if:

• Their property is within a State or Territory declared flood disaster area.
• Their property was affected by floods since 1 January 2023.
• They require immediate assistance to make their property safe to access.

Please note the ILSC is unable to fund the repair and replacement of items that are covered under existing insurance policies unless there is a clear and urgent health and safety risk to humans and livestock.

2. We will assess your application and inform you of the outcome:

Your application will be assessed and if further information is required, we will be in contact. We will let you know the outcome of your application within 7 working days.

3. If approved, the ILSC will provide funding:

If your grant application is approved, upon the verification of your bank details, we will strive to provide funding within 14 working days of approval and having received a correctly rendered tax invoice from your corporation.1800 818 490
