Tourism businesses
The ILSC's tourism businesses offer employment and training opportunities to significant numbers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia. The businesses are operated by Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia Pty Ltd, one of the ILSC's wholly-owned subsidiaries.
Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia Pty Ltd (Voyages) is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of the ILSC and operates the ILSC’s tourism business portfolio. More broadly, Voyages assists with the development of Indigenous tourism across Australia. Voyages projects focus on the recruitment, training, employment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the businesses.
Voyages currently operates:
- Ayers Rock Resort in Central Australia
- Mossman Gorge Centre in QLD.
The National Indigenous Training Academy
The National Indigenous Training Academy at Yulara in the Northern Territory works in partnership with Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia to help Indigenous Australians to achieve a nationally-accredited qualification in hospitality and tourism with a guaranteed job opportunity on successful completion of the training.
Ayers Rock Resort (NT) and Mossman Gorge Centre (QLD) offer employment and accredited training programs for Indigenous people aiming to enter the tourism industry
Ayers Rock Resort
The ILSC bought Ayers Rock Resort at Yulara to operate a tourism enterprise that can employ and train a large number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the tourism sector. The resort is operated by a wholly-owned subsidiary of the ILSC, Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia.
Mossman Gorge Centre
Mossman Gorge Centre is an Indigenous ecotourism development constructed by the ILSC and operated by Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia in collaboration with the local Kuku Yalanji people.
